The Voice: Gary's Legacy

THIS PAGE IS LOVINGLY DEDICATED TO ONE OF MY OWN SPECIAL, GODLY HEROES, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES, EVANGELIST GARY MICHAEL CRUTCHFIELD, 57, WHO WAS DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 4 LUNG CANCER ON JANUARY 21, 2011.. AND WHO WENT TO BE WITH OUR LORD ON MAY 12, 2011.

I WAS IN AWE OF THE LORD'S GREATNESS IN GARY. HE NEVER COMPLAINED, EVEN WHEN THE SPIRIT OF FEAR WOULD MOMENTARILY TRY TO OVERWHELM HIM.. HE JUST SPOKE OF HIS 'SWEETEST MOMENTS', WHAT HE HAS WAITED FOR ALL HIS LIFE. HIS ATTITUDE WAS THAT OF JESUS IN GETHSEMANE.. NOT MY WILL, BUT THINE, AND HE EAGERLY LOOKED FORWARD TO THE CHARIOT OF FIRE THAT AWAITED HIM!

I DEARLY LOVED AND ESTEEMED THIS MULTI-GIFTED MAN OF GOD, AND I WISH TO SAY SO THE BEST WAY I KNOW HOW..

SO GARY, HERE'S TO YOU, SIR, YESSIR!

FOR A LIFE WELL-LIVED - AND LIKE OUR PRECIOUS LORD & SAVIOUR JESUS THE CHRIST - POURED OUT FOR THE SAKE OF OTHERS. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU WITH GREAT FONDNESS, MY BROTHER, FOR YOU WERE A BRIGHT LIGHT, A PRECIOUS GIFT, A REWARD, AND I STILL PRAISE GOD, FOR HAVING PLACED YOU INTO MY LIFE. WHAT A DIFFFERENCE YOU'VE MADE IN ALL OUR LIVES, SIR! OUR SEASON TOGETHER WAS SHORT BUT POWERFUL, AND WE ALL LOVE AND MISS YOU AND YOUR OUTSTANDING SENSE OF HUMOR!

GARY'S LEGACY CAN BE FOUND IN HIS VOICE, LIKE THE ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, REPENT, AND BE SAVED! GARY SHARED HIS MESSAGE THROUGH HIS GIFTED SONGWRTING, MUSICAL AND VOCAL TALENTS. GARY WAS A DISABLED VET WHO ATTENDED NASHVILLE COWBOY CHURCH, WHERE HE WAS ALSO LICENSED AS AN EVANGELIST.

GARY'S WALK WITH CHRIST WAS AMAZING.. HE EMBODIED CHRIST'S LOVE.

HE IS SORELY MISSED. HIS DEPARTURE HAS LEFT A GAPING HOLE IN MY OWN LIFE AND MINISTRY, AND IN THE BODY OF CHRIST ON EARTH. I WOULD ASK YOU TO KINDLY PRAY FOR THE LORD TO CAUSE THE SOLDIER ALREADY ASSIGNED, TO TAKE UP THE POSITION NOW, AND STAND IN THE GAP, SO THAT THE WOUND TO THE BODY MAY HEAL.

PLEASE KEEP DORTHEY HIS BELOVED WIFE OF 34 YEARS, SON JOE, NIECE KIM, GREAT-NIECE OLIVIA, GREAT NEPHEW JORDAN, NIECE KAREN, GREAT NIECE ZOE, PARENTS HAROLD & FAYE, SISTER BEVERLY, BROTHERS MARK & JEFF, COUSIN "JIMBO" & OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS AND LOVED ONES CLOSE IN YOUR PRAYERS.

Gary Michael Crutchfield

August 20, 1952 - May 12, 2011

Gary was proud of his Cherokee

heritage, and fought to live, as only a Valiant Warrior could.

Gary diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer

and suffering

Gary rallied, empowered by the Holy Ghost, to minister as the "Shepherd of our Little Flock"

when he officially became First Associate Minister to HE Writes the Words on My Heart! Ministry.

The last photo Gary ever sent me from his cell phone. I prayed, read Scripture to him and sometimes sang softly to soothe him. He believed for his healing unto the very end.

One of the last things Ev. Gary told me was, "Watch for the Red Bird, Rev. Rhonda." But all I saw the day of his passing, were the sparrows gathered at the watering well..

And I knew, just as Gary believed, he was being sheltered in the Almighty's wing.. for it is writen, not one sparrow falls to the ground apart from the Father.. There were seven sparrows.. the number of completion.

The Red Birds (Cardinals) did come though.. a few days later.. and they came more plentifully than we had ever seen them before! I know in my heart, that Gary is joyfully singing his own sweetest songs directly to the LORD now!

Beloved,

Though losing Brother Gary as our Shepherd has been a great loss and we have

grieved, the last thing he would want is for us to continue to sorrow! Please rejoice knowing that Evangelist Gary has heard the words, 'Well done, thou good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of thy LORD!' We also have the sure confidence that one day we shall see him again! I'M SURE HE IS THRILLED KNOWING THE TROOPS ARE COMING HOME!

What better way to remember

THE VOICE OF TENESSEE,

than to listen to him sing again!

In the near future, I hope to post the actual words to his songs, as I am a Scribe, Poet & Songwriter myself, and the value of the words is everything. I discussed his songs with him many times because of the powerful anointing he carried as a Songwriter. We shared an understanding of The Christ that the LORD used to cement us in ministry.

He who dwells in

the shelter of the

Most High,

who abides in the shadow of the Almighty,
